Jesus said, "You Must Eat My Flesh." Have We Missed What He Really Meant?
July 26, 2026
Jesus said, "You must eat my flesh." What did He really mean?
Did Jesus intend His words to be understood only in a natural sense, or was He revealing a spiritual truth that many have overlooked?
For centuries, Christians have wrestled with the words of Jesus in John 6. Many have accepted traditional explanations without carefully comparing Scripture with Scripture. But what if the Bible itself provides a deeper understanding of what Jesus was teaching?
In this in-depth Bible study, the Scriptures are allowed to speak for themselves. By carefully comparing John 1, John 6, John 12:44-50, Isaiah 11:2, Isaiah 59:20-21, Zechariah 3:8-10, Zechariah 4:1-6, Ephesians 4:13-16, and Revelation 1, 4, and 5 (KJV), this teaching examines the relationship between the Word of GOD, the covenant of GOD, the Bread from heaven, and the Seven Spirits of GOD as they are revealed throughout the Scriptures.
The Bible teaches that the Church is to grow "till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of GOD, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:13, KJV). It also warns that without this growth believers will remain "tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine" (Ephesians 4:14, KJV).
This study encourages viewers to consider how understanding the revelation of the Word of GOD relates to the teachings of Jesus, including His declaration in John 12:44 (KJV):
"He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me."
Throughout this presentation, the focus is on comparing Scripture with Scripture and carefully examining how these passages relate to one another. Rather than relying solely on tradition or long-held assumptions, viewers are encouraged to search the Scriptures diligently and examine the biblical evidence presented.
Whether you are a pastor, Bible teacher, Bible college student, or simply someone who desires a deeper understanding of GOD's Word, this study challenges you to take the time to examine these passages carefully. Open your Bible. Compare every Scripture. Ask the LORD for wisdom, understanding, and discernment as you study His Word.
The Church cannot afford to be satisfied with a surface understanding of Scripture. According to Ephesians 4, believers are called to grow into the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of GOD so that they are no longer carried about by every wind of doctrine. This study invites you to examine whether understanding the revelation of the Word of GOD is foundational to that spiritual maturity.
